HD Amplifiers
In 2008, JL Audio introduced HD Amplifiers and proved that world-class audio performance could come in a very small package.
The core technology of the HD amplifiers is called Single Cycle Control™ which tracks the audio signal, compares it to the real PWM waveform and then corrects it in each and every cycle (over 400,000 times per second). By doing this, a multitude of distortion-causing mechanisms are tightly controlled to enable pristine amplification. This exclusive core amplifier technology is mated to our regulated, intelligent power supply (R.I.P.S.), advanced thermal management systems and a full complement of studio-grade processing features that puts the HD amplifiers in a performance class all their own.
In 2009, we are expanding the HD lineup with the addition of two exciting new models: the HD1200/1 Monoblock and the HD900/5 System Amplifier.
HD1200/1
With frequency response that extends smoothly into treble range,
the HD1200/1 will be used in many creative ways by adventurous users,
but its primary mission in life is to drive subwoofers, so its feature
set has been optimized for that purpose. It features a variable slope
crossover, infrasonic filter, polarity reversal switch, remote level
control port and preamp outputs.

HD900/5 This system amplifier is an amazing feat of engineering and packaging efficiency. Inside the HD900/5's diminutive chassis is a 500 watt subwoofer amplifier PLUS a 400 watt four-channel amplifier. This effectively matches the performance of the best-selling amplifier combination of all time (the JL Audio 500/1 and 300/4), but it does so in less than a third of the space!
The HD900/5 can be used as a five-channel, full-system amplifier driving front and rear speaker systems with 100W x 4, plus a subwoofer with 500W. It can also be operated as a very powerful three-channel amplifier, with 150W x 2 (main channels at 4 ohms) to the main speakers, plus 500W to a subwoofer. A comprehensive signal processing section includes variable slope crossovers, an infrasonic filter and a port for a remote subwoofer level control.
It really is an amazing, full-system amp solution that easily fits in the tightest spaces and delivers simply staggering performance.
